The Rookery Chicago Wedding

There is nothing quite like a wedding in the heart of Chicago.

The day began at The LaSalle Hotel, a venue that exudes modern luxury with a nod to classic Chicago style. The suites provided a serene and beautiful atmosphere for the couple to prepare for the day ahead. One of the most heartwarming aspects of the morning was seeing their three sons involved in every step. These boys were such a huge part of the celebration, and their excitement for their parents was palpable from the moment they started getting dressed.

We headed to The Rookery for an epic first look on the iconic Oriel stairs. The architecture provided a masterclass in light and shadow for our indoor portraits.

We couldn't resist stepping outside for a few moments to capture the classic "Chicago" vibe. LaSalle Street is arguably the most dramatic view in the city, with the Chicago Board of Trade standing tall in the background.

The ceremony was a beautiful Jewish service, starting with an intimate Ketubah signing on the very top floor of The Rookery (where Burnham & Root had their office!). Being tucked away at the top of the building for such a significant legal and spiritual tradition felt incredibly private and special. Afterward, they moved to the light court for the ceremony under the Chuppah. The blending of tradition with the sheer grandeur of the venue was breathtaking.

Jessica & Russell were a dream to work with, and their love for their boys and each other made every photo effortless. The Rookery remains one of my favorite venues to photograph, perfectly matching the grace of this wonderful family.
