Humboldt Park & Evanston Engagement Session - Lily & Zeke
There’s something special about being up before the rest of the world, and Lily & Zeke were total troopers for trusting me with the crazy idea of a sunrise engagement session. We kicked off their shoot at dawn in Humboldt Park, and the soft, golden light filtering through the trees made it really worth it. Major kudos to them for saying yes to the early alarm — it set such a peaceful, intimate tone for the rest of the morning.
After the park, we made our way to their home to capture some relaxed, candid moments with their two cats (who, as you’ll see, were complete naturals in front of the camera. haha). I love these cozy in-home shoots because they add such a personal touch to the session — a perfect glimpse into their everyday life together.
Next up: Leonidas Cafe in Evanston, a nostalgic favorite for Lily. The charm of the place paired perfectly with their dynamic, and we even managed to sneak in a few shots over coffee (and maybe a pastry or two).
We wrapped up the morning at the Gross Point Lighthouse and nearby beach, letting the breeze and soft lake light guide the final moments of the session. It was the perfect way to close out a day.
Lily & Zeke were an absolute joy to photograph — kind, thoughtful, and naturally connected. They truly brought their story to life, and I couldn’t be more excited for them.
