Chinatown & Downtown Chicago Engagement Session - Liz & Frank
When I think of engagement sessions that truly capture a couple’s personality, spontaneity, and love for the city — Liz & Frank’s session is definitely one for the books. We started off at the iconic Art Institute of Chicago, where the timeless architecture and classic artworks made for some beautifully romantic shots. From there, we wandered downtown, taking advantage of the classic Chicago energy in the summer.
And then... things got fun.
Enter: Taco Bell — I’ll leave it at that (it was incredible)
After that, we headed to the Adler Planetarium, which gave us that stunning panoramic view of the city skyline. The wind was wild, the light was perfect and they leaned into it like pros. Then we made our way to Ping Tom Park — a quieter, underrated gem that added a totally different texture to the shoot, with its lush paths and peaceful river views.
…And then, the best for last: We wandered through Chinatown with no strict plan, just good vibes, great light and amazing energy — everything felt alive and full of color. We kicked things off with some drinks at Nine Bar (highly recommend, btw), and ended with some all-timer soup dumplings at Hing Kee. Honestly, it was more than a photo session — it felt like a day hanging out with old friends, camera in hand.
Liz & Frank brought such good energy, were totally down for anything, and made the whole experience feel like a true collaboration. I can’t wait to capture their wedding day in October!
