Osteria Via Stato Wedding - Elizabeth & Frank

Elizabeth and Frank’s wedding day was such a perfect Chicago story — full of love, tons of laughs, and a few surprises that made it even better. From their cozy West Loop apartment to the celebration at Osteria Via Stato, it was one of those days that felt effortlessly genuine and full of heart.

The morning started with them getting ready together in their apartment, surrounded by family and close friends. Before slipping into their wedding outfits, they took time to honor Frank’s Chinese heritage with a traditional tea ceremony — such a meaningful way to begin the day.

Afterwards, they changed into their western attire and shared a first look on their rooftop, with the Chicago skyline behind them. From there, we set off around the city for portraits — starting at the Museum of Contemporary Art, where we wandered through the Yoko Ono exhibit (until we got kicked out — Ha!). Luckily, we rolled with it and headed to the lakefront instead, which ended up being amazing.

Their ceremony and reception were both held at Osteria Via Stato. The space was warm and intimate — perfect for their kind of celebration. And their entrance? Incredible. They surprised everyone with traditional Chinese lion dancers, and the whole place erupted in cheers. In one word, it was epic.

At end the night, we snuck outside for a few last photos… and it immediately started pouring rain. Instead of running for cover, we just went with it — and they turned out to be some of my favorites ever.

I really can’t say enough about Liz & Frank. From the moment we met, these two have been nothing but supportive and enthusiastic - They’re one of those couples who feel like friends. I’ll always remember this one.
